magic
I have the flu. so annoying.
it's been a discouraging couple of days.
so, I'm blogging the first part of one of my favorite things I've ever shot.
this day was different than any other day of shooting I've experienced. I've done personal shoots before and they've all been wonderful in their own way but this was different. I didn't have to try. It was effortless. This is going to probably sound like a strange adjective, but it felt alive. A world outside of the one I live in. when it was over, even hours later, I was on a high.
when I write creatively (fiction) or when I read a great story, I get to feel transported. It's my most favorite part about reading stories and writing stories. I can go somewhere, and experience something, and see things differently than the rest of the world. That's what I am talking about when I talk about magic--true magic. The wardrobes that lead to forests. The closets that become quiet, mystical hiding places. The libraries that allow us to escape time and place. and in the past I've only ever felt that when I write or read--so this was the first time shooting that I felt that pure, unadulterated creative magic.
to you, these will simply be images of a beautiful young woman in an empty room. but to me, these images are soaked with story. with words on a page. magic, magic, magic.
