Emily & Cael: OJAI.CALIFORNIA
nestled in the mountains and hills of ojai, in a valley full of light, emily and cael pledged love and life to one another. and they danced beneath the stars.
CHELSA & RYAN: BUDIR.ICELAND
I could tell you about how hard we laughed when our cars stalled out at roundabouts. or what it’s like to make a peanut butter and jelly in your lap in the car. or how no matter how many times you watch a geyser erupt in a row, it still catches you off guard. or what it’s like to meet up with a couple you’ve never met at the Keflavík airport at 4 in the morning and instantly fall in love. I’ll let those things, and all the other things stay ours.
ROWEN & TAYLOR: AUSTIN.TX
silvery grey light you just wanna die over, sick getting ready locations, no bridal party, ample time for portraits + first look, all the guests in black, a wedding in a secret house with red walls, toasts on the front porch stair case, a lotta david bowie, french food. no need for tradition. this is about a marriage not a wedding. about a couple doing something that's true to them.
ALEX & GARRETT: S. CALIFORNIA COAST
two weeks after they started talking, Garrett was on a plane to TX to meet Alex in person.
and two years after they started dating (to the day) they're getting married in Joshua Tree.
CORINNE & NICK: SAN ANTONIO. TX
hand squeezes and misty eyes and flat out laying down on the dance floor.
JOHN & AUDREY: N. CALIFORNIA COAST
We met and hopped in cars and headed down the coast. Stopping when we wanted. Ate at a little diner on the side of a cliff. Swapped stories, became fast friends. Laughed. Took deep breaths. Watched the raging sea from sleepy beaches.
KRISSIE & BRYCE: N. TEXAS
here’s what we’ll go with: more than anything else, can’t keep their hands off each other, so sweet and kind and warm, so happy they don’t care about little details.
CIARA & TY: Hollywood.California
they were living in alabama. and things were comfortable. familiar. so they packed up all that they had and sold what they didn't need and hopped in the car and moved to california. no plans just dreams and a lot of guts and ambition.
LAUREN & DANIEL: PALM SPRINGS. CA
and the desert sprawled vast and thin. rolling on in quiet mounds of white sand. marked by tufts of dry golden branches and grasses. and we ran up and down and all over that mug.
EM & DAVID: BENTONVILLE.ARKANSAS
this. a day that I could never in eighteen hundred years ever forget. one that I cried at (two times maybe even three) one that I learned an asian line dance at (or tried to learn) one where the father of the groom brought me a plate of deserts during the two hours of speeches. one where the bride pulled me aside to take portraits of her and her father's picture. one I drove five and half hours through hail and sheets of rain to get to, only to see my couple at the hotel and immediately forget about that drive. one where the mother of the bride walked her only daughter down the aisle. this one made an impact. left a mark.
TYLER & CARINA: VASHON ISLAND.WASHINGTON
so come with us, ferry away to Vashon Island. across deep grey blue waters. come on in, Tyler’s childhood home. take a seat in the backyard where rain comes from a cloudless sky and dahlias grow larger than children. witness true love and splendor and family and pierogis and polish vodka.
LAUREN & JEFFREY: AUSTIN.TX
L and J have been together for many, many years. they grew up around the corner from each other--unaware that one day they would be husband and wife. that the boy next door would one day get down on one knee in a kitchen in Spain on a Tuesday and ask her to marry him. that the eleven year old girl that shared every class with him would become the girl he loves.
LIZ & BREN: LAKE PLACID.NY
there is something special. and quiet. whispers through pines that guard mountains. fog that crawls in low and deep and heavy. still dark waters that bear witness to vows. and we know the secret. we saw what took place there. in the valley between the hills. just as autumn made its presence known. we know and we saw. and remember.
ALYSSA & DANIEL: DALLAS.TEXAS
this day. the light, the dress, the girl. the way the trees moved, the moments that passed between sisters and mothers. the way his face looked when he saw her at the end of the aisle.
CHRISTINA & JOHN: SEATTLE.WASHINGTON
woke up at 4 AM. prepping, thinking the day through--grabbed coffee, left early for Tacoma. got there around 6 and watched seal bob up from under the water, a fawn make its way down the beach and back into the woods.
